So my great plan to get underway (at least on DA) is sort of failing. Not only do I have limited opportunities to take photos, but I never have my camera when I want it. Typical.
One thing I did want to do was do a photo shoot of my cat. In writing, that looks bizarre (Photo shoot? Cat?), but it seemed to make perfect sense to me. Sadly, she died yesterday before I got a chance. I suppose I should have known better - she was going more senile by the day. But because I've had her since before I can remember, I've sort of taken it for granted that she'd always be there.
I don't know if a cat can be photogenic, but she was never intimidated/crazily curious when a camera was shoved in her face. In the last month I'd seen the two most loveliest photo opportunities, but by the time I ran and got the camera, she'd wandered away somewhere.
More over, I keep seeing these really awesome potential shots while sitting on the train on the way home in the evenings. Of course, even if I DID have my camera (and I'm really hesitant to take it to uni... will never know what will happen) it would be near impossible to take anything - the train is moving too fast, and I've learnt that taking photos out of windows - unless it's intentional - never works out well.
Meanwhile, my city is getting more and more chaotic with next week's Commonwealth Games, but perhaps there's a few hidden gems in there. I'm going to a few of the events, so we'll see. Plus, this is the only time I'll be able to walk around the city with a camera without the fear of looking like a tourist - because chances are, everyone around me will be!
In the meantime, I'm off to bed - I've heard it's a good cure of being sleep-deprived, as I am. Leaving the house every day before 7am and getting home after 8pm is taking its toll.

How you been doing?
